Lizanne Dirkx (1986) graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2009, where she has been studying at the Man and Well Being department. During her time at the academy, she has been constantly challenged to approach design in a critical and refined way. Product design at Man and Well Being reflects social awareness and human relations in everyday life, as well as sustainability and the value of the resources we use. From this experience, Lizanne developed herself as a semi-industrial designer. Instead of starting from a product or production process, she looks at the connection and interaction she has with her surroundings. “My inspiration derives from material properties, natural shapes and haptic experiences. I think of how to make products more humane, by emphasizing on the emotional experience of them.” Most of her designs include a form of interaction that is imaginative and arouses curiosity. Their appearance invites the user. |
